Departing from the East, North：
Take the Coastal Highway or Bei-Yi Highway or Hsuehshan Tunnel to Yilan. Change to the Su Hua Highway and after arriving in Hualien, you can choose to either take Provincial Highway 11– Huadong Coastal Line or Provincial Highway 9 – Huatung Highway to get to Zhiben, Taitung.
Departing from the North, West：
You can take the Coastal Highway or Highway to get to Kaohsiung or National Highway 3 to Nanzhou. From Ping E Highway change to Nanhui Highway (Provincial 9 Highway) to Zhiben, Taitung.
